PRODA to myID and RAM: the checklist for NDIS Commission portals
The NDIS Commission is moving its portal logins from PRODA to the Australian Government Digital ID (myID) with Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM). The transition period is scheduled to end by 30 September 2026, after which the PRODA option is removed. Here is what each person in your organisation needs, in the order the Commission's own guide gives it.

What is changing and when
From 7 December 2025, providers transition from Provider Digital Access (PRODA) to a combination of Digital ID (myID) and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) to access NDIS Commission portals. myID is the Australian Government's Digital ID app; RAM is the authorisation service that lets an individual act on behalf of a provider online once linked with their myID.[1]
Providers continue to access the portals through PRODA during the transition period, scheduled to end by 30 September 2026. Following the transition period, the option to access the portals using PRODA will be removed.[1] The Commission encourages providers to set up myID and RAM now to minimise disruption later.[1]
The checklist
The Commission's quick reference guide sets out these steps.[2] Your myID is for your personal identity, not your business; if you already have the app from Medicare, Centrelink, the ATO or the NDIS provider portal, you use that account.
- Every person who will log in sets up myID on their phone with their personal email address. The guide says the person you authorise needs a Digital ID such as myID with a standard or strong identity strength.[2]
- The principal authority links the business in RAM by logging in to RAM and linking their myID to the business's ABN. If the business is already linked in RAM, this step is not repeated. Only the principal authority can do this: a sole trader, or an eligible individual associate or primary person.[2]
- The principal authority creates authorisation requests in RAM for other staff, for themselves (sole traders), or makes someone an authorisation administrator who can then authorise other staff. The request sends an email with an authorisation code that is valid for 7 days.[2]
- Each person accepts the request in RAM, logging in to RAM with their myID.[2]
- Log in to the Commission portal with myID: Portal Login, choose the portal, Log in, Continue with Digital ID, choose myID, enter your myID email, get the code, accept it in the app. If you hold authority for several businesses you choose the ABN first.[3]
Sole traders do both sides of this: the worker task (myID with a personal email) and the business tasks (the business in RAM, then authorising their own myID to represent it).[2]
Your first login: keep your roles
The first time you log in with myID having previously used PRODA, the portal asks whether you want to link your PRODA account. Linking means you keep the roles you had. If you click Continue without linking, you are prompted to create a new access request for a new role, you no longer have access to your previous roles, and you do not see the linking message again. You can still link later: log in with PRODA, and at the portal entry point use the alert about transitioning to link your Digital ID.[3]

Who keeps using PRODA
NDIS participants who self-manage or engage a plan manager, and who access the Commission portals for worker screening purposes, will continue to use PRODA until further notice. The change does not and will not replace NDIS worker screening checks.[1] Participants, people applying to be a behaviour support practitioner, and practitioners logging in to their profile can use myID without the RAM business steps.[2]
Questions providers are asking
When does PRODA stop working for NDIS Commission portals?
The Commission says providers continue accessing its portals through PRODA during the transition period, scheduled to end by 30 September 2026, and that following the transition period the option to access the portals using PRODA will be removed.[1]
Does this replace NDIS worker screening?
No. The Commission states the change does not and will not replace NDIS worker screening checks.[1]
I am a sole trader. Do I set up as a worker or as a business?
Both. The Commission's guide says sole traders are seen as both a worker and a business: set up myID with your personal email, then set up your business in RAM and authorise your personal myID to represent it.[2]
Will I keep the portal roles I had under PRODA?
Only if you link the accounts. The Commission's login guide says the first time you log in with myID after using PRODA you are asked whether to link your PRODA account, and linking keeps the roles you had. If you chose to continue without linking, you no longer have access to your previous roles; you can still link later by logging in with PRODA and choosing the Digital ID link from the alert.[3]
Who can I call for help with myID or RAM?
The Commission's guide points to the ATO on 1300 287 539: option 2 then 1 for myID, option 3 then 1 for RAM.[3]
Do self-managed participants have to change?
The Commission says participants who self-manage or use a plan manager and access its portals for worker screening will continue to use PRODA until further notice.[1]
